A spray tan is a sunless tanning method where a fine mist containing DHA (dihydroxyacetone) is applied to your skin. DHA reacts with the amino acids in the top layer of your skin to create a natural-looking bronze glow—without sun exposure.

2. How long does a spray tan last?

With proper prep and aftercare, a spray tan typically lasts 5 to 10 days, depending on your skin type, lifestyle, and how well you maintain your skin.

3. Is spray tanning safe for my skin?

Yes! Spray tanning is considered the safest way to achieve a tan compared to UV exposure. Our solutions are high-quality and contain skin-nourishing ingredients, but they are not 100% organic or chemical-free. (We believe in full transparency!)

4. Will I turn orange?

No way! At SaltyGirl Tanning Co., we custom-match each client’s tan based on your natural skin tone and desired result. Our technique and products are designed to give you a natural, sun-kissed glow, never an orange tint.

Booking & Policies

5. How do I book an appointment?

All bookings are done online through a private link we’ll send you after confirming availability by text. Once your deposit is paid and forms are completed, your appointment is locked in!

6. What deposit is required to book?

A 50% deposit is required to reserve your appointment. Deposits are non-refundable within 24 hours of your appointment. All events and holidays (week or weekends) deposits are non-refundable, no matter when you cancel.

7. How do I confirm my appointment?

We’ll confirm your appointment via text message after we receive your forms and deposit. Until you receive a final confirmation from us, your appointment is not guaranteed.

8. Do you charge a travel fee?

Yes, we do! We charge a $2 per mile round-trip travel fee based on your location from our base in Nashville, TN. We typically service within a 20–25 mile radius.

9. What happens if I cancel or reschedule?

If you cancel or reschedule within 24 hours of your appointment, your deposit will be forfeited. Please give as much notice as possible so we can accommodate other clients.

Appointment Questions

10. What should I do before my spray tan?

• Exfoliate 24 hours before

• Shave/wax at least a day before

• Come with clean, product-free skin (no lotion, deodorant, perfume, or makeup)

• Wear dark, loose clothing to your appointment

11. What should I wear during the spray tan?

Whatever you’re comfortable with!
You can go nude, wear a swimsuit, or use disposable undergarments that we provide. After your tan, change into loose, dark clothing to avoid smudging.

12. How long should I wait to shower after my spray tan?

Depending on your solution type:

• Standard tan: Rinse in 8–12 hours

• Rapid tan: Rinse in 2–4 hours (we’ll tell you the exact time at your appointment)

Always use warm water and no soap for your first rinse!

13. Can I work out or sweat after my tan?

Not right away!
You must avoid sweating, swimming, or any water exposure until after your first rinse to ensure the best results.
